AMPEG is climate-neutral!
November 8, 2011: With our commitment we want to show our customers and business partners that the sustainability of our internal processes is an important issue at AMPEG, and one which goes hand-in-hand with the highest quality demands we make of ourselves in relation to our work. This is why AMPEG has set itself the aim of running the operation as a CO2-neutral business. Our efforts towards climate neutralisation represent a building block in our appreciation of climate neutrality, but, first, we want to attempt to prevent or reduce emissions in the most efficient manner. Purchasing green electricity for the company is a matter of course as a part of this.
We balance out emissions, which are impossible to prevent, and which remain after our attempts at making savings, by purchasing allowances. A detailed report on how AMPEG GmbH successfully made itself climate-neutral is available here: Climate neutralisation case study.
New dimensions in IT security management
June 9, 2011 Version 5 of AMPEG Security Lighthouse allows security managers to rectify weak spots in the network that influence critical business processes, provides new dashboards and optimizes cooperation with security management.
As the specialists for quality assurance in IT security at large enterprises, AMPEG now presents the new Version 5 of its monitoring software "Security Lighthouse", which helps rectify weak spots in the network even more efficiently than before. Security Lighthouse allows security officers and risk managers to track the security status of IT systems involved in individual business processes in almost real-time. An individually designable dashboard shows each IT security staff member precisely the information that is relevant to his area of business. This allows resources for removing weak spots to be allocated more efficiently. A series of innovative collaboration features and a new Relief Map make operating the software even more intuitive and smooth the way for promoting efficient collaboration with IT security management.
You will find a complete overview of all the new features in Version 5 here .
Key Performance Indicators
June 15, 2010: Being able to measure IT security processes represents an important requirement for ensuring quality management in IT security. Using key performance indicators makes this possible. It also makes decision-making easier for managers, since it allows the level of compliance with key objectives to be measured based on them.
For the first time now, the Key Performance Indicators integrated into AMPEG Security Lighthouse show the security management team the duration of the distribution process for patches/updates.

Classifying Computer Systems
April 07, 2010: In a GRC suite like HiScout from DB3, users can map their business processes and evaluate their computer systems according to criticality and safety class. By exchanging data between AMPEG Security Lighthouse and HiScout, companies that employ both software solutions can assess the security level of their critical computer systems in a dedicated manner. AMPEG Security Lighthouse users who are not yet ready to deploy GRC software can now classify their computer systems according to availability and safety classes in a simplified version. All computer systems in the network are listed in the administration section under Classification. Users can then select individual computers and assign them a Protection Class (e.g. 4-Very High) and/or an Availability (e.g. 4 High Critical). In the subsequent reports on the Security Information Map or in the lists and charts, only those systems with the appropriate classification assigned can be analysed.
New Vulnerability Collector
February 15, 2010: The new AMPEG Vulnerability Collector now transfers all security information from different vulnerability scanners into AMPEG Security Lighthouse. These scanners check your network regularly to pinpoint weak spots. The results are then analyzed in the central data warehouse in AMPEG Security Lighthouse and put into visual form on the Security Information Map and in various lists and charts. Correlation with the data from the patch management system provides you with an overview in AMPEG Security Lighthouse of the weak spots you have already patched successfully.
